US President Donald Trump ( @realdonaldtrump) has announced the resumption of direct flights between the United States and Lebanon, ending a suspension that has been in place since 1985.

The announcement followed Trump`s meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and is expected to strengthen travel and economic ties between the two countries. The resumption of services remains subject to aviation safety and security requirements before commercial flights can begin.
