
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has instructed the implementation of a national healthcare system that ensures comprehensive medical services for all citizens across the country.
The system is built on an integrated national health insurance framework that spans all emirates.
This initiative reflects the leadership’s dedication to providing universal access to high-quality healthcare and to developing an advanced health sector based on preventive care, digital transformation, public health, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

It aims to establish a fully integrated healthcare model that improves efficiency, optimizes the use of resources, and enhances sector readiness in line with global best practices, reinforcing healthcare as a key national priority and a cornerstone of the UAE’s development strategy.
Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention, said the President’s directives embody a national vision that places health and quality of life at the center of the UAE’s development agenda, describing the initiative as a major step toward a more efficient and future-ready healthcare system.
He added that the UAE continues to strengthen its healthcare sector through prevention, sustainability, and innovation, ensuring the delivery of high-standard medical services across the country.
Al Sayegh also noted that the UAE’s healthcare system is supported by a coordinated federal and local structure, advanced infrastructure, and integrated digital health platforms, along with ongoing investment in improving service quality and accessibility across all emirates.
He further emphasized that the new system will enhance the resilience and integration of healthcare services and support long-term positive health outcomes for citizens throughout all stages of life.
