The Ministry of Education has announced the resumption of in-person learning for all enrolled children, students, educational staff, and administrative staff in public and private nurseries, kindergartens, and schools, effective Monday, 20 April 2026.
This follows the completion of schools’ readiness and preparation plans, including facility preparedness, staff training, and the updating of safety and security procedures—reinforcing a safe and reassuring learning environment for students and their families.
The Ministry added that private schools will have the flexibility to implement a hybrid rotational model when necessary, in accordance with approved regulations and under the supervision of local education authorities. This approach takes into account each institution’s level of readiness while ensuring smooth implementation.
It also emphasised that schools adopting the hybrid model must organise staff deployment to support continuity of learning, without requiring teachers to deliver in-person and remote instruction simultaneously. This is intended to maintain education quality while balancing teachers’ workloads.
The Ministry further noted that educational institutions will remain prepared to transition to alternative learning modes when required, ensuring continuity of education with flexibility and efficiency.
