The Future Investment Initiative Institute has appointed Her Royal Highness Princess Dr. Maha bint Mishari bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership transition for one of Saudi Arabia’s most influential global investment platforms.
Princess Dr. Maha succeeds Richard Attias, who has long been associated with the FII Institute’s rise as a convening force for global leaders, investors, innovators, and policymakers. Attias will continue to serve as Chairman of the Executive Committee, according to the Institute’s leadership page and Reuters.
The appointment signals a new chapter for the Riyadh-based FII Institute as it continues to expand its international presence and strengthen its role in shaping conversations around investment, innovation, sustainability, and global economic transformation.
Princess Dr. Maha brings a distinguished background across healthcare, higher education, research, institutional advancement, and international engagement. Prior to her appointment, she served as Vice President of External Relations and Advancement at Alfaisal University in Riyadh and represented Saudi Arabia at major international forums, including the G20 and the Eurasian Women’s Forum.
In her new role, Princess Dr. Maha will lead the FII Institute’s mission to drive impact through investment, innovation, and global collaboration. The Institute said her leadership will focus on strengthening FII’s position as a global platform that connects capital, leadership, and ideas to address some of humanity’s most pressing challenges.
The leadership change comes as the FII Institute continues to build momentum beyond its flagship annual gathering in Riyadh. The Institute has also expanded its international agenda through global summits and events designed to attract investment, encourage cross-border collaboration, and support long-term economic growth.
Founded with the Public Investment Fund as its founding partner, the FII Institute has evolved into a major platform for global dialogue, bringing together decision-makers from finance, government, technology, and industry. Princess Dr. Maha’s appointment reflects the Institute’s ambition to deepen its impact and further align its work with Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a hub for investment and innovation.
