Minister of Economy and Commerce Meets Heads of Major World Companies

Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani,Minister of Economy and Commerce with Richard Haythornthwaite, Chairman and Director of MasterCard

HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, met today with a number of heads of major international companies at the close of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
He discussed with Chairman and Director of MasterCard Richard Haythornthwaite the company’s regional, global and local activities in the State of Qatar, praising the great development of the Qatari economy and the investment climate Qatar provides for foreign companies and enterprises.
In another meeting, HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani reviewed with Chief Executive of Maersk Group Nils S. Andersen economic issues and the company’s projects in Qatar. Meanwhile Anderson expressed the company’s intention to develop its business in Qatar in the light of country’s great economic development in various sectors.
He also met with Benoit Potier, and Chief Executive Officer of Air Liquide Benoit Potier to discuss the regional and global economic situation and developments in Qatar’s economy and the business climate in the state, which helped attract and huge foreign investments.
During the meeting, Potier praised the results the Qatar economy has achieved and the advanced status it reached in the region and the world, expressing the company’s intention to expand to expand its investment in Qatar.
Meanwhile Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani met with economy Minister Jean Pascal britwar, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Schneider Electric Jean-Pascal Tricoire who praised the great development in Qatar’s economy and the growth of business in the country which provided great opportunities for foreign companies to expand their business and increase their activities, expressing the company’s interest in expanding its investments in the State of Qatar.
In another meeting HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce discussed with the CEO of Siemens Joe Kaeser, various projects of the company, particularly those operating in the State of Qatar. Kaiser was impressed by the efforts made by the State in various sectors and expressed the company’s willingness to expand its business in the State.
HE the Minister also met with the CEO of DHL Express Ken Allen, where they discussed topics of common interest and ways to expand the company’s projects and investments in the State of Qatar.
