The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Foundation (Ruwad) to support Emirati citizens in entering the real estate brokerage sector with professional and regulatory excellence. The agreement aims to boost citizen participation, create sustainable employment, and deliver specialised training programs in the real estate field.

The MoU was signed by Abdulaziz Rashid Al-Saleh, Director of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, and Fatima Hassan Al-Ali, Acting Director of Ruwad, in the presence of senior officials including Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Shamsi, Director-General of the Real Estate Department, and Hamad Al-Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, alongside representatives from Al Thuraya Real Estate Group.
Under the agreement, Ruwad will promote the Emirati Real Estate Broker Initiative, manage applications from aspiring brokers, provide training venues, and cover instructor fees to ensure effective program delivery. The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department will organise specialised training, grant initial approvals for brokerage licenses, and waive program fees for participants.
Dr Abdulaziz Al-Shamsi emphasized that the MoU aligns with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, highlighting the importance of stimulating the real estate market, creating new opportunities for citizens, and developing a generation of qualified Emirati brokers.
Hamad Al-Mahmoud added that the partnership will empower national talent, strengthen Emirati entrepreneurship in real estate brokerage, and provide a supportive ecosystem that combines regulatory training with practical market opportunities. He stressed that a strong network of qualified brokers is vital for market regulation, transparency, and efficiency, particularly as Sharjah continues to expand residential, commercial, and investment projects across the emirate.
The initiative will enable Emirati youth and entrepreneurs to confidently enter the real estate sector, meet regulatory requirements, and contribute to Sharjah’s sustainable economic development. By combining professional training with practical support, the MoU aims to enhance operational competence, reduce barriers to entry, and foster a secure and thriving investment environment.
