Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has underscored the significance of the ‘Dubai-It’ initiative, describing it as a powerful reflection of the UAE leadership’s philosophy of transforming ambitious visions into tangible achievements that drive sustainable progress and innovation.

Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the initiative showcases Dubai’s unique approach to governance and development, where bold ideas are translated into impactful projects that enhance quality of life and strengthen the emirate’s global competitiveness.

Al Tayer said the initiative embodies a culture of action and excellence, where exceptional accomplishments become benchmarks for future performance. He noted that Dubai’s ability to execute projects rapidly while maintaining world-class standards has positioned the emirate as a global model for innovation, resilience, and transformative development.

“The Dubai-It initiative documents our leadership’s distinctive philosophy of turning ambition into outstanding real-world achievements,” Al Tayer said. “This approach has enabled Dubai to transform challenges into opportunities and innovative ideas into pioneering projects that generate lasting economic, social, and developmental benefits.”

Reflecting on Dubai’s development journey, Al Tayer recalled a statement made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the inauguration of the Dubai Metro Route 2020 project in July 2020, when he said: “We say what we do, and do what we say.”

According to Al Tayer, these words continue to inspire individuals, government entities, and private-sector organizations alike, fostering a collective spirit of determination and achievement that defines the Dubai model. He said the philosophy reinforces a belief that no challenge is too great and that innovation and commitment can transform ambitious goals into reality.

Al Tayer explained that RTA’s institutional strategy is deeply aligned with this vision, focusing on delivering projects that create long-term positive impacts for society and support Dubai’s future growth. He highlighted several landmark transportation initiatives that exemplify this approach, including the successful launch of the Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines, the completion of Route 2020 despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the announcement of the Dubai Metro Blue Line as the next major milestone in the emirate’s mass transit network.

He added that the recently announced Dubai Metro Golden Line further demonstrates Dubai’s unwavering commitment to advancing strategic infrastructure projects, even amid evolving regional and global circumstances.

Beyond public transportation, Al Tayer pointed to several transformative infrastructure developments that embody the Dubai-It philosophy. These include the Dubai Water Canal project, which connected Dubai Creek to the Arabian Gulf, the Infinity Bridge, and an extensive network of roads and bridges that have significantly enhanced connectivity, mobility, and transport efficiency across the emirate while meeting the highest international standards.

Al Tayer emphasized that one of Dubai’s defining strengths is its ability to consistently align visionary planning with effective execution. He noted that autonomous taxis have already begun operating in the emirate, while preparations are progressing for the launch of commercial air taxi services by the end of 2026. At the same time, work continues on the ambitious Dubai Loop project, which is expected to further redefine urban mobility.

He concluded that these pioneering projects and initiatives demonstrate that the future is shaped through action, innovation, and perseverance. Together, they reinforce Dubai’s position as a global leader in innovation and a benchmark for cities seeking to build sustainable, technology-driven futures.
