Mount Hira is one of the most prominent historical and religious landmarks in Makkah, a cornerstone of Islamic memory, symbolizing the beginning of the Prophet Mohammed’s (peace be upon him) revelation.
Located about four kilometers from the Grand Mosque, Mount Hira rises to approximately 634 meters above sea level. At its summit lies the Cave of Hira (Ghar Hira), where revelation first descended.
The mountain attracts thousands of visitors, including pilgrims performing Umrah and Hajj, as well as those interested in Islamic history, offering a unique spiritual and historical experience.
In recent years, the site has seen organizational and developmental improvements that enhance the visitor experience while preserving its sanctity and historical character.
