The Government of the Sultanate of Oman has finalized its acquisition of SalamAir, confirming that both Oman Air and SalamAir will continue to operate as fully independent brands, maintaining their respective operational identities, fleets, and services.
Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, stated that the move is designed to minimize overlap in route networks between the two airlines, optimize fleet utilization, and expand air connectivity both within Oman and across the region.
He emphasized that the acquisition will improve operational efficiency while offering travelers a wider range of options and greater diversity across the two carriers’ service categories.
In a statement to Oman News Agency, Al Maawali added that this strategic initiative is expected to strengthen the financial positions of both airlines and associated ground service companies by streamlining cost structures and enhancing revenue quality.
