The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that its pre-booked, app-based minibus service has now served more than 193,000 passengers since its launch, underscoring the growing adoption of smart, flexible, and technology-driven mobility solutions across Dubai.

The service has gained steady traction by providing commuters with a convenient shared transport option built on digital booking systems, dynamic routing technology, and enhanced last-mile connectivity. It is designed to improve accessibility and offer a more efficient alternative to traditional transport modes, particularly for short to medium-distance travel within urban areas.
As part of Dubai’s broader vision to develop an integrated, sustainable, and innovation-led public transport ecosystem, the smart bus pooling service plays a key role in encouraging shared mobility and reducing reliance on private vehicles. By optimising passenger routes through smart algorithms, the system helps connect users travelling in similar directions, enabling efficient shared trips that improve overall network utilisation.
The service operates through authorised smart platforms that allow users to easily reserve trips in advance. Once booked, passengers are grouped with others heading toward nearby destinations, creating a cost-effective and time-efficient commuting option. This model enhances convenience while contributing to reduced congestion and better traffic flow across key areas of the city.
The service recorded its strongest monthly performance in October 2025, when it transported more than 18,000 passengers in a single month. This milestone reflects rising confidence in shared and on-demand mobility solutions, as well as increasing demand from residents commuting between residential communities, business districts, and major urban hubs.
The continued growth of the service highlights Dubai’s ongoing efforts to advance smart mobility infrastructure and strengthen its position as a global leader in sustainable urban transport innovation.
