The Ajman Department of Tourism Development on Saturday hosted an exciting ‘Red Bull Shall’ race.

More than 25 drivers in the presence of a huge number of spectators took part in the race.

The race was the first event in Ajman Tourism’s calendar of activities for 2022.

The ‘Red Bull Shall’ race is a head-to-head competition against the clock. The drivers are required to lift their cars, drive them on their two side-wheels, and cross the finish line while achieving the least time score.

The competition adopts the principle of exclusion where the winner advances to the next bracket and the loser exits the competition.

The organizing committee allowed the participation of production or modified vehicles, whether two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, granted they are equipped with all safety equipment; and undergone technical inspection to ensure their eligibility. After an initial qualifications round, the participants with the fastest recorded times were selected to compete in the race.

The race comes in conjunction with the ‘World’s Coolest Winter’ campaign in the UAE, and as part of Ajman’s participation in this unified national promotional campaign which aims to promote domestic tourism during winter season in the country, introduce the distinctive natural and cultural resources, and highlight the unique features and landmarks of each emirate.

Mohamed Saleh Al Geziry, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, stated that such events greatly contribute to attracting visitors, and stressed on the department’s continuous efforts to support all kinds of events and sponsor all sorts of activities and initiatives in Ajman, which promote the quality of life in it, and transforms it into a leading destination that hosts distinguished touristic and entertainment events.

He underlined that the ‘Red Bull Shall’ race and other events come as part of Ajman Tourism’s plans to boost the tourism industry in Ajman by organizing qualitative activities that are of interest to the residents and visitors alike, and promotes it as a prominent touristic destination that is capable of hosting important global events.

The Red Bull Shall event was held for the first time at the top of Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain city 11 years ago, and opened the doors for organizing similar shows and competitions within the framework of organized sports with defined sets of rules and laws, and on tracks that implement all safety conditions and precautionary measures after being previously held on public roads.
