
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, attended part of the 17th edition of the EmiratesSkills National Competition, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak “Mother of the Nation”, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.
The competition is organised by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) and is being held at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi from 18 to 20 May 2026.

This year’s edition features 500 male and female participants competing across 37 technical and vocational skill categories, showcasing national talent in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, engineering, and digital manufacturing, reflecting the UAE’s growing focus on advanced skills and future-oriented industries.

During his visit, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed reviewed several of the competitions spanning engineering, industrial, and vocational disciplines aligned with future job markets. He also interacted with Emirati students taking part in various technical and vocational tracks.
He expressed appreciation to the Applied Technology Schools, as well as to the organisers and supervisors of the event, for their efforts in establishing a national platform that promotes excellence, innovation, and skills development among UAE youth.
