UAE Urges Immediate De-escalation, Return to Talks

Staff writer by Staff writer

in Regional Roundup

The United Arab Emirates has expressed deep concern over recent developments in the region, calling for an immediate halt to escalation and urging all parties to avoid actions that could further heighten tensions and instability.

The UAE also called for maximum restraint to prevent the region from sliding into greater violence, and renewed its appeal for an immediate end to hostilities and a return to negotiations.

It stressed the importance of ensuring the freedom, safety and uninterrupted flow of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as vital to the global economy.

The UAE also condemned attacks on civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, desalination plants, energy facilities, transport hubs and residential areas, saying such acts constitute a serious violation of international law and cannot be justified under any circumstances.
