Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) announced the launch of two specialized subsidiaries—SAMI Land Company and SAMI Autonomous Company—alongside the inauguration of the SAMI Land Industrial Complex, the HEET Program, and the SAMI Local Content Program (RUKN) during the World Defense Show. The exhibition is held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and was inaugurated on his behalf by Minister of Defense and SAMI Board Chairman Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

SAMI Autonomous Company will focus on autonomous systems and advanced control technologies, developing unmanned aerial, maritime, and land vehicles, as well as robotics, to enhance Saudi Arabia’s future defense and security capabilities. SAMI Land Company aims to strengthen land system capabilities, providing integrated solutions that enhance the readiness of the armed forces and meet national defense requirements.
The SAMI Land Industrial Complex represents a major expansion of the Kingdom’s industrial and technological base, becoming the largest fully integrated facility of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa. Covering 82,000 square meters within a one-million-square-meter industrial zone, the complex leverages Industry 4.0 technologies—including AI, IoT, and robotics—to optimize efficiency and production quality. It will serve as a national hub for manufacturing, testing, and sustaining wheeled and tracked armored vehicles and turrets, producing up to 1,500 military vehicles annually and creating over 1,000 high-quality jobs for Saudis.
The HEET Program introduces a new generation of 4×4, 6×6, and 8×8 wheeled armored vehicles designed and produced in Saudi Arabia at the SAMI Land Industrial Complex. These vehicles feature advanced protection, high mobility, mission adaptability, and integrated command-and-control systems with optional manned or unmanned configurations, suitable for urban, desert, and off-road operations.
SAMI’s Local Content Program, RUKN, aims to develop national defense supply chains across all levels—from Tier 1 to Tier 4—while empowering SMEs. The program has two strategic tracks: increasing national production across SAMI’s portfolio and integrating local content requirements into procurement, and enhancing sectoral independence by reducing reliance on external suppliers through a comprehensive national production ecosystem.
SAMI Group CEO Eng. Thamer AlMuhid emphasized that the launch of the specialized companies, the SAMI Land Industrial Complex, the HEET Program, and RUKN are interconnected initiatives forming a unified industrial model. This approach focuses on localizing technology, enhancing defense readiness, and building sustainable national capabilities while empowering Saudi talent.
He added that as a strategic partner of the World Defense Show for the third consecutive time, SAMI is reinforcing its role as a leading national partner in the Kingdom’s defense and security sector, driving localization, strengthening sovereign capabilities, and shaping the future of Saudi Arabia’s defense ecosystem. At the event, SAMI is showcasing its latest technologies, strategic partnerships, and localization initiatives across all subsidiaries.
