Dubai Trade, DT, has signed an agreement with Noor Takaful, giving its customers access to an Islamic insurer for the first time, and an even wider choice of marine and cargo insurance providers online through its Tradeshield platform.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of Ports, Freezones and Customs Corporation (PCFC) and DP World, has welcomed Noor Takaful to the Tradeshield platform, saying, “Noor Takaful is the first Islamic insurance partner to join our world-class insurance partners for cargo insurance, providing Dubai Trade customers with more options and choice as they look for online, smart ways to improve efficiency and reduce the paperwork involved in insuring their cargo. We are confident that adding Noor Takaful to the insurance offering available on Tradeshield will be of a great value to our trading community.” Bin Sulayem continued, “Dubai Trade supports the growth of business and the economy of Dubai through its diverse online products, seamless trade services, innovative business processes and smart single-window services, as envisioned Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has tasked us all to make Dubai both a smart city and the centre of the Islamic economy.” Andrew Greenwood, Acting CEO for Noor Takaful Insurance, said, “We are delighted to be the first Takaful to formally sign an agreement with Dubai Trade for marine and cargo trade in Dubai and its free zones. Since our launch a few years ago, we have established a reputation for the best quality of protection through modern, flexible, state of the art channels and are committed to being at the forefront of the Takaful insurance sector in the Middle East.” Greenwood also said, “We will continue to develop our brand, products and services and look forward to providing safe online insurance as well as instant quotes through the Tradeshield platform of Dubai Trade from beginning of next year, while continuing to offer personalised services to corporate customers should they so wish.”
