Dubai’s global standing has been built on delivery, resilience, and a relentless focus on quality rather than empty promises, according to Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties.
Speaking during the 11th edition of the Emirati Media Forum, Alabbar said Dubai does not need to respond to criticism through debate. Instead, the emirate’s continued growth, ambitious developments, and ability to navigate challenges speak for themselves.
“Dubai responds to skepticism with achievement, not arguments,” Alabbar said, stressing that the international media attention surrounding the city reflects its growing stature and influence on the global stage.

Alabbar noted that optimism in the UAE is grounded in tangible results rather than slogans. He pointed to the country’s ability to sustain economic momentum and investor confidence despite regional uncertainty, saying that the UAE economy has repeatedly demonstrated its resilience in the face of geopolitical and economic challenges.
The real estate sector, he added, remains particularly strong. Unlike markets heavily dependent on leverage, the UAE property market benefits from significant cash liquidity, creating a more sustainable foundation for long-term growth. Demand for real estate has remained robust despite regional tensions, supported by the country’s reputation for stability, security, infrastructure, and business opportunity.
“The continuation of market activity and investment during recent crises reflects the confidence people have in the UAE,” Alabbar said.
He also highlighted the importance of learning from previous periods of disruption. According to Alabbar, the country has built systems and frameworks that have strengthened its readiness to manage future challenges while maintaining momentum across key sectors.
Looking ahead, Alabbar said the next phase of Dubai’s development must focus on quality, innovation, and creating lasting value. He stressed that the ambition should not simply be to build the tallest or largest projects, but to deliver developments that are sustainable, commercially viable, and globally relevant.
Addressing the future of Dubai Creek Tower, Alabbar said the project remains part of the city’s vision, although its launch will be linked to market timing and construction costs.
His comments reinforce a wider message that has defined Dubai’s growth story for decades: ambition must be matched by execution. For Alabbar, the city’s credibility is not built through responding to critics, but through continuing to create, innovate, and deliv
