L’IMAD Holding will consolidate its assets and investments under ADQ following a newly issued resolution

Staff writer by Staff writer

in Money, Government, Politics & Economics

The Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs (SCFEA) has issued a resolution to consolidate the assets and investments of L’IMAD Holding Company (L’IMAD) and the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Group (ADQ) under the L’IMAD umbrella.

The move is aimed at creating a sovereign investment powerhouse with a diversified portfolio, supporting the Government of Abu Dhabi’s sustainable investment strategy and contributing to the emirate’s broader economic development objectives.

The resolution underscores Abu Dhabi’s continued commitment to the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen sovereign investment funds locally and globally, while maintaining the stability and continuity of the emirate’s investment policy, cultivated over more than five decades.

L’IMAD will leverage specialized operational, industrial, and technological capabilities alongside investment platforms across public and private markets, enhancing both the flexibility and diversity of Abu Dhabi’s sovereign investment ecosystem.

Chaired by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, L’IMAD aims to develop globally competitive investment platforms that foster national champions in sectors of strategic importance. These sectors include energy, real estate development and infrastructure, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food, aviation, ports, and financial services, as well as a broad range of industrial and technology sectors.

The company will also pursue both direct and indirect investments through private investment funds and public and private financial markets.

L’IMAD’s diversified portfolio will combine operational, developmental, industrial, and financial capabilities, encompassing leading assets and investments, including 25 investment companies and platforms and over 250 group subsidiaries.

Notable holdings include TAQA in the power and water sector, Modon Properties, Etihad Airways, PureHealth, Etihad Rail, Wio Bank, Abu Dhabi Ports, McLaren, and Louis Dreyfus.

Led by Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, L’IMAD will also expand its global investment footprint through private investment funds, both independently and in partnership with strategic investors in priority sectors.

The SCFEA oversees Abu Dhabi’s principal sovereign investment funds, including the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Mubadala Investment Company, and L’IMAD Holding Company, as well as the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), which operates across the oil, gas, and petrochemicals sectors.
