
Digital Government Authority has announced the results of its “Emerging Technologies Adoption Readiness Index” for 2026, highlighting continued progress in government readiness to adopt and implement advanced technologies.
The index reached 76.04%, up from 74.69% in 2025, with participation expanding to 54 government entities compared to 49 in the previous year, reflecting broader engagement across the public sector.

Eng. Ahmed bin Mohammed Alsuwaiyan stated that the findings demonstrate the growing maturity of government digital transformation efforts, with agencies moving beyond experimentation toward full-scale implementation of emerging technologies. He noted that this shift supports continuous improvement and strengthens overall digital readiness.
He added that emerging technologies have become a core driver of government efficiency, productivity, and service delivery, significantly improving the experience of beneficiaries.
The report showed improvement across key capability areas, including research capability at 78.07%, integration capability at 77.00%, communication capability at 75.18%, and proof capability at 73.92%.
The top-performing government entities for 2026 were classified into “Exceptional” and “Advanced” levels. Agencies such as the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Energy, and the Communications, Space and Technology Commission were placed in the “Exceptional” category, while several other ministries and national institutions were ranked under the “Advanced” level.
The report also highlighted successful use cases of emerging technologies across government entities, including Generative AI, Agentic AI, Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics. These technologies are being applied to automate processes, enhance decision-making, and improve digital service delivery across key sectors.
Overall, the findings reflect strong progress in leveraging advanced technologies to improve government performance and service quality, further supporting national digital transformation goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a knowledge-based economy and establish a globally leading digital government.
