The Saudi Ministry of Health announced that the 1447 AH Hajj season concluded without any epidemic outbreaks or public health threats, affirming that pilgrims remained in good health throughout the annual pilgrimage. The announcement came as Saudi authorities declared the overall success of this year’s Hajj operations across all sectors.

Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel said the achievement reflects the Kingdom’s strong commitment to safeguarding pilgrims’ health and safety, highlighting the preparedness of the healthcare system and its close coordination with various government entities. He noted that Saudi Arabia views the protection of public health during Hajj, one of the world’s largest annual gatherings, as a global responsibility.
The successful health outcome was achieved despite ongoing international health concerns, including Ebola outbreaks in some regions and reported cases of Hantavirus worldwide. Through proactive planning, enhanced disease surveillance, and comprehensive preparedness measures, health authorities reported no suspected or confirmed cases of these or any other infectious diseases among pilgrims during the season.
Throughout Hajj, the healthcare sector operated around the clock, delivering a full range of preventive, curative, emergency, and health awareness services. The ministry credited the success to the continued support of the Kingdom’s leadership, as well as the coordinated efforts of the Supreme Hajj Committee, the Permanent Committees for Hajj and Umrah in Makkah and Madinah, healthcare professionals, and security personnel who worked to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims.
