The Dubai Centre for Family Businesses, part of Dubai Chambers, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development (MBRCLD), organised a specialised training programme in Milan, Italy, for participants of the 3rd Dubai Family Business Management Programme.
The programme aims to equip the next generation of family business leaders in Dubai with advanced management skills, ensuring business continuity, effective succession planning, and stronger governance practices.
Attended by representatives from 27 family businesses, the training combined academic learning at SDA Bocconi School of Management, one of Europe’s top business schools, with site visits to leading Italian family businesses. Participants gained firsthand insights into global best practices, sustainability strategies, and innovative business models from companies including Lavazza, Mapei, Brembo, and interactions with families such as the Garrone family of ERG Group.
The programme covered strategic topics including family business governance, wealth management, succession planning, sustainability, conflict resolution, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.
Khalid AlJarwan, Executive VP at Dubai Chambers, emphasised that empowering family business leaders is crucial for sustaining Dubai’s economy and enhancing global competitiveness. Majid Al Shamsi, Director of MBRCLD, highlighted the programme’s unique blend of theory and practice, combining world-class academic insights with direct exposure to successful family businesses abroad.
By linking academic knowledge to practical experience, the programme strengthens participants’ ability to navigate leadership transitions, drive sustainable growth, and ensure the long-term success of family-owned enterprises in Dubai.
