Al-Futtaim, one of the region’s most diversified and progressive privately held businesses, has appointed Jorge Navea as President of Al-Futtaim Automotive, effective immediately. The strategic appointment underscores the Group’s commitment to shaping the future of mobility, accelerating growth, and delivering transformative customer experiences in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.

Jorge brings over 30 years of global automotive expertise spanning OEMs, distribution, and mobility services. Most recently, he served as CEO of Astara, where he led a major transformation, establishing the company as a technology-enabled, global mobility leader across mature and high-growth markets.

In his new role, Jorge will drive Al-Futtaim Automotive’s growth strategy, focusing on market expansion, next-generation customer and aftersales excellence, and strategic investments to future-proof the business. His partnership-driven, innovation-focused, and customer-centric leadership aligns closely with Al-Futtaim’s vision for navigating the ongoing transformation of the automotive industry.

“I am honoured to lead Al-Futtaim Automotive, a company with a strong legacy and a clear vision for the future of mobility,” said Jorge Navea. “The automotive sector is evolving rapidly, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to accelerate growth, enhance customer experiences, and deliver innovative, sustainable, and human-centred mobility solutions, from intelligent driving technologies to connected and efficient transportation.”

Omar Abdulla Al Futtaim, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al-Futtaim, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Jorge Navea to lead our Automotive division. His extensive international experience and proven track record in transforming businesses into technology-enabled mobility leaders make him the ideal choice to guide Al-Futtaim Automotive during this exciting period. Under his leadership, we aim to accelerate growth, scale our platforms, and reinforce our focus on customer-centric, AI-driven, and technology-enabled experiences that redefine how people move.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Al-Futtaim Automotive’s priorities under Jorge’s leadership include advancing electrification and sustainable transportation, building intelligent and connected infrastructure, and placing customers at the centre of every interaction. The division remains committed to enriching lives through innovative, sustainable, and human-focused mobility solutions.

The appointment of Spanish-born Jorge Navea reflects Al-Futtaim’s ongoing dedication to leadership, innovation, and delivering exceptional value to customers and stakeholders while shaping the future of mobility.
