
Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed on Tuesday that several drones had targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, sparking a fire at the facility.
Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the authority’s official spokesman, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that, according to initial assessments, the incident caused only property damage and there were no reported injuries or fatalities. He emphasized that the situation was being closely monitored to ensure public safety and airport operations were not significantly disrupted.
Following the attack, the competent authorities immediately activated approved emergency response procedures. Firefighting teams were deployed to contain and extinguish the blaze, while aviation security, airport management, and other relevant agencies coordinated on-site to manage the incident. Al-Rajhi noted that all necessary authorities were present at the scene, ensuring that safety protocols were strictly followed and that airport operations could resume as soon as it was safe to do so.
The Civil Aviation Authority is continuing to investigate the incident and assess potential security measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
