Ooredoo ( a Qatari Shareholding Company) announced today that HE Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani has been appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer to succeed Dr. Nasser Mohammed Abdullah Marafih who was appointed member of the Board of Directors to replace Omar Abdulaziz Al-Marwani – and advisor to the Board Chairman.
In a press release it issued today, Ooredoo said the changes included other executive leaderships. Walid Al Sayid has been appointed Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer and also CEO of Ooredoo Qatar and Youssuf Abdullah Al-Kubaisi as Ooredoo Qatar Chief of Operations.
In a statement Group Board Chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Saud Al Thani expressed thanks to Dr. Nasser Mohammed Marafih for his fruitful contribution through his assumption of the post of Group Chief Executive Officer saying ” we look forward to benefit from his services and experience at the Board of Directors.
He also wished Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani success in leading the group at this stage which sees big developments in the communications industry.
