Djibouti seeks closer ties with Arabs

Djibouti’s visiting Minister of Finance and Economy Elias Musa said here on Sunday his country is willing to bolster and consolidate cooperation with Arab countries.
Hailing Kuwait’s role in promoting his country’s relations with Arab countries, the minister said in statements at the Arab Planning Institute (API) that the government of Djibouti has filed a request to join the API in order to draw upon its expertise and support in different fields, mainly planning, development and knowledge.
He expected that the coming period would witness several visits by Djibouti to the State of Kuwait with a view to developing cooperative ties with Arab nations.
He added that his country is currently interested in planning as a key tool of economic development and that’s why it needs various expertise and knowledge from the API.
For his part, API Director-General Bader Al-Malallah said his agency is ready to provide Djibouti with economic development experiment.
The API’s experiment and services include training, capability-building and institutional support to small and medium-sized enterprises, he added.
Al-Malallah pointed to the API’s eagerness to cement its cooperative relations with all Arab countries.
