Swedish water tech company WAYOUT is pleased to present its first-of-a-kind sustainable technology at a new site-specific global showroom in Dubai, making its permanent residence in the United Arab Emirates at Alserkal Avenue: their first official international showcase.
During a launch event to inaugurate the new space, Emirati sustainability authority Shaikh Dr. Majid Al Qassimi, joined WAYOUT Founders Martin Renck and Ulf Stenerhag, to host their key partners in the region, Siemen’s and Alfa Laval, as well as esteemed guests and dignitaries from government institutions, Embassy’s, the education sector, the community of Alserkal Avenue and multiple environmental causes.
Having emerged as one of Dubai’s most influential creative enclaves in the Middle East, Alserkal Avenue is a socially responsible and forward-thinking arts and cultural community, and WAYOUT will use its new showroom to demonstrate how its clean technology and groundbreaking water production system, including smart pod, kegs, and taps function, are important for markets of the UAE and wider GCC and Levant.
“WAYOUT’s vision for a more sustainable future goes hand in hand with our ongoing environmentally conscious initiatives at Alserkal Avenue. We are very excited to welcome WAYOUT to the Alserkal Avenue community, and we look forward to working together to achieve our shared goals,” says Basmah ElBittar, Director of Community Relations at Alserkal Avenue.
The result is a ground-breaking and innovative water system that converts any type of source water into perfect drinking water. WAYOUT’s pioneering water system is developed to increase drinking water safety by improving drinking water quality, availability, accessibility, affordability, sustainability, and ethicality. In addition, the cutting-edge technological water purification, distribution, and dispensation system is developed to reduce the use of plastic bottles and the overall carbon footprint. A single WAYOUT system produces up to 20,000 liters of mineral water daily – enough to provide 10,000 people with their daily need for drinking water – while
simultaneously preventing up to 13 million plastic bottles and 1,400 tons of CO₂ from entering the ecosystem yearly.
By installing WAYOUT’s fully digitized eco-friendly water systems, including its smart pods and kegs, consumers will transform the area’s water supply and provide a more eco-friendly, innovative, and healthier offering for residents, that pioneers and leads the way for sustainable urban development.
“In modern history, the Gulf region is known for providing the energy and related technology that has powered human development. The next chapter is about how humans can transition to renewable energy and sustainable development by applying technological expertise and innovation culture that has emerged to become the true natural resource of this region. Our goal is to supply the Middle East with clean drinking water, and as one of Dubai’s most forward-thinking and established home-grown cultural initiatives, Alserkal in Dubai is the perfect platform to showcase our award-winning water systems.” says Martin Renck, founder, and Chief Strategy Officer WAYOUT
In an effort to revolutionize water sustainability and increase its collaboration with partners to identify and support local solutions – WAYOUT’s work will be tailored to individual locations, needs, and issues and will take a broader approach, going beyond its own operations.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) faces some impeding challenges in terms of water resources and security – currently relying on desalination plants to supply 42% of its drinking water. With its substantial economic growth, population growth, and development in all sectors (education, infrastructure, urban development, etc.), the UAE launched its comprehensive ‘UAE Water Security Strategy 2036’ program in 2017 to ensure universal access to safe drinking water by effectively addressing not only long-term supply and accessibility issues, but also the water security challenges of the years ahead.
WAYOUT will aim to work with local water users, communities, partners, and global experts to identify, develop and progress in accelerating change to aid with water production within the Middle East.
WAYOUT drinking water is 100% locally sourced and 100% pure.
