Umm Al Qaiwain is set to have 3,900 houses constructed over the next 20 years, according to Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme
The announcement was made during a meeting with H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, received Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, and his delegation at the Emiri Court, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain.
As reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), Dr. Al Nuaimi explained the details of the projec titled “Foresight of the need for housing in the UAE during 2020-2040” which aims to identify the housing needs of each emirate and assess the financial requirements. Sheikh Saud was also briefed by Dr. Al Nuaimi about the UAE’s housing needs up to 2040.
Sheikh Saud praised the efforts of the ministry and programme to implement the project while directing relevant local departments to fully coordinate and cooperate, and stressing the importance of supporting future projects.
Dr. Al Nuaimi lauded the directives of Sheikh Saud to facilitate the work of the ministry and programme, by allocating plots of land for housing projects.
