In the presence of Sheikh Hamad Bin Saleh Bin Mohamed Al Sharqi, Board Member of National Bank of Fujairah (NBF), the bank held the official graduation ceremony for 32 UAE nationals who completed the NBF Technology Academy. The program is in partnership with Fujairah Government, Port of Fujairah, Fujairah Building Material and AFNIC.
Speaking to open the ceremony, Vince Cook, CEO, NBF said “Investing in young Emirati talent has been a commitment since inception of the bank, as we believe building a strong pipeline of local leaders benefits the banking sector, as well as the wider economy. The NBF Technology Academy is a key component of our strategy to support the career aspirations of the nation’s youth and develop their skills in order to prepare them to take on leadership roles within the bank, or meet the needs of wider industry and government. I would like to congratulate all the graduates, and wish them well in their future endeavours.”
The NBF Technology Academy was launched in 2021 in collaboration with PWC’s Academy, the talent and skills development business of PwC Middle East. PwC industry veterans, cyber upskilling experts co-created a customised curriculum and delivered upskilling solutions that helped enable NBF Technology’s Academy vision. The various training courses built from baseline IT knowledge to application development, and system administration training.
At the ceremony, Essa Dalloul, PwC Director and Cyber Academy Lead said “It has been a real pleasure for my team and I to see the impact we create through NBF Technology Academy. Each year, I am impressed by the participants skills, ambitions and capabilities. And I look forward to following their journey to success.“
In line with NBF’s commitment to the development of Emirati talent, as well as the digital transformation of the UAE, all 32 candidates successfully completed the program and were provided with the opportunity to work.
Now in its third consecutive year, the exclusive academy provides local talent with progressive career opportunities in IT and innovation, and helps them achieve digital, technical and scientific excellence, thus deepening the local talent available in this space. Students complete six months of intensive training, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to fulfil their career ambitions, while contributing to the country’s economic growth.
