In new guidelines released by Dubai Municipality, it was outlined that restaurants will be limited to eight people per table.
Groups had previously been restricted to five: this number still applies to shisha cafés, the Municipality said. However, new amended coronavirus restrictions aim to help make the dining-out experience easier.
Restaurants also now have the option of using dividers between tables instead of placing them two-meters apart, a requirement which has been in place since March.
The rules also apply to food courts.
