Jubail Mangrove Park, an educational, nature and leisure destination on Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi, will open on October 1, 2020.
Jubail Mangrove Park first opened in January with the aim of enhancing the awareness, appreciation and understanding of the delicate ecosystem and rich biodiversity of the UAE capital’s famed mangroves.
The park temporarily ceased operations in March in accordance with safety precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Visitors will once again be able to stroll down the sprawling boardwalk that runs through the mangroves, meander through 2.3 kilometres of Boardwalk and see a variety of terrestrial and aquatic flora and fauna.
One of the key goals of Jubail Mangrove Park is to attract visitors to encourage them to explore and understand the vital role mangroves play in helping keep the world’s natural habitat abundant.
Richard Russell Chief Operations Officer of Jubail Island Investment Company (JIIC), says: “This has been a difficult time for our community, our families, and our world. Jubail Mangrove Park is thrilled to be able to reopen to the public with the hope it will provide a unique opportunity to connect with some of the UAE capital’s iconic natural heritage.”
