Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) yesterday organised a specialised workshop at Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai to complete cascading DEWA’s Strategy 2021 with the divisional sub-strategies which integrate together to achieve the approved strategic objectives.
“The UAE is celebrating the Golden Jubilee year of its Union in 2021, marking 50 years of achievements that have drawn the world’s attention. This would have not been possible without the directives of our wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and their faith in the spirit of the Union,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, during the workshop.
“DEWA 2021 aims to promote and contribute to the UAE’s strategic plans for the nation, and to achieve the goals of the national agenda of the UAE Vision 2021, especially the pillars of a Sustainable Environment and Infrastructure, Competitive Knowledge Economy, and a Cohesive Society and Preserved Identity It also complements the Dubai Plan 2021 launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, in December last year. DEWA contributes directly in all six pillars that have been adopted by the Plan, and continues its efforts to achieve the objectives of the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030,” he added.
“H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced 2015 as the Year of Innovation, and the DEWA2021 is part of the leadership’s vision to achieve the goals by focusing on innovation. We have included innovation as part of our strategic vision and have customised an integrated approach to achieve the objectives of the strategy in the field of innovation, which also fits with the Dubai Innovation Strategy,” added Al Tayer.
