The Qatar Exchange was down 183.92 points or 1.53 percent as it closed Tuesday at 11,811.75 points from the previous closing of 11,995.67.
The volume of shares traded rose to 11,647,353 from 7,421,153 yesterday, and the value of shares increased to QR475,862,718.96 from QR359,040,478.03.
Among the top losers were Intl. Islamic Bank whose share dropped 0.38 percent to QR78.70, Vodafone Qatar lost 3.50 to QR15.15, Ezdan Holding fell 4.44 percent to QR14.20 and Barwa was down 3.80 percent to QR38.80.
The Banking and financial sector dropped 0.96 percent to 3,081.74 points while the insurance sector lost 1.76 percent to 3,739.61 points. The industrial sector was down 0.94 percent to 3,938.96 points while consumer good and service sector added 0.24 percent to 6,870.68 points.
