Qatar Exchange Index Drops 253.20 Points This Week

Qatar Exchange index lost 253.20 points (1.91%) this week when it closed trading at 12,978.86 points Thursday afternoon. The trading value QR 4,043,021,173.27 during this week decrease by 44.55% compared to QR 7,290,726,889.49. The trading volume of decreased by 38.91% to reach 99,971,954 shares as against 163,654,276 shares. The number of transactions fell by 25.36%,to reach 46,458 transactions as compared to 62,244 transactions. The market capitalization fell by 1.85% to reach QR 705,094,849,620.53 as compared to QR 718,365,971,072.08 at the end of previous week. Banks and Financial Services sector led traded value week with 42.72% of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 17.22%. Real Estate sector accounted for 16.10% and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 9.32%. Banks and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 34.08% of the total traded volume. Real Estate accounted for 23.85%. The Consumer Goods and Services accounted for 15.13% and Telecoms sector accounted for 12.31%. Banks and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 36.44% of the total number of transactions. Industrials sector accounted for 20.37%. Real Estate sector accounted for 16.94% and Consumer Goods and Services accounted for 11.25%. From the 43 listed companies, 14 ended this week higher, 28 fell and one remained unchanged. Masraf Al Rayan topped the traded value this week with 20.14% of the total traded value. Gulf International Services accounted for 5.91%. Vodafone Qatar accounted for 5.73%.
