Kingdom’s Non-Oil Exports And Imports

courbe-croissanteThe value of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s non-oil commodity exports in June 2014 increased by an amount of SR (18,676) million, up by (14.9 %) compared to the same period of 2013, while imports amounted to SR (51,457) million, down by ( 8.2%) compared to the same period of 2013.
The Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) said in its report to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that plastics and rubber products topped the list of non-oil commodity exports during the month of June by 33.42% amounting to SR 6,241 million, followed by chemical industry products by 31.26% amounting to SR 5839 million, and transport equipment by 9.97% amounting to SR 1862 million.
According to the report, the value of the Kingdom’s imports of machinery and equipment, electrical appliances increased by 25.69% amounting to SR 13,217 million; transport equipment by SR 15.95% amounting to SR 8,208 million; and ordinary metals and their products by 13.38% amounting to SR 6,885 million.
The United Arab Emirates ranked first in terms of the value of non-oil commodity exports by 13.2%, followed by China 12.20%, and Singapore by 6.67%; while China topped the list of countries importing non-oil commodities by 14.53%, the United States of America came in second place by 11.68%, and Germany by 8.45%.
