The region’s largest full spectrum factory and warehouse automation solution provider, ACME Intralog, reports increase in demand for their solutions as the ‘new normal’ signifies radical change in the way businesses look at their distribution centers. The disruption in logistics during Covid has made more companies look to established regional players like ACME for warehousing automation as opposed to hiring companies outside the region.

To meet the increasing demand, UAE headquartered ACME, which completed 45 years of operations this year, is planning to expand into Saudi Arabia.

By the end of 2020, ACME also intends to open a sales and services office in Germany to bring them closer to their customers in the EU.

Navin Narayan, Founder-CEO, ACME Intralog, says: “We see strong demand through 2020-21 as the region invests in being self-sufficient and commits to investment in industrial growth. We are excited to expand our operations into Saudi Arabia this year. We already have clients in KSA but now with a local presence, we will be able to provide round the clock on-site service and maintenance as well as promptly respond to any emergency repair and maintenance requirements at the same service level that we provide in the UAE. With the beginning of the pandemic and corresponding growth in e-commerce, there has been considerable focus on industrialization in the region and we see a tremendous potential for both factory as well as warehouse automation. Businesses in competitive sectors such as grocery e-commerce are now turning to micro distribution solutions to meet the demands of customers. We have built a wide portfolio of solutions that cater to these needs and are now seeing a substantial number of requests for such solutions.”

In 2018, anticipating the growing needs for automation regionally, ACME opened a manufacturing facility located within the Jebel Ali Free Zone and now manufactures a complete range of conveyor systems, AS/RS systems, control systems as well other material handling systems. They also design and manufacture customized factory automation solutions for different industries in the region, Europe as well as the United States.

“Our Jebel Ali facility now has over 80 employees, it also houses our R&D facility where we develop a wide variety of innovative automation solutions tailored to the regional market. We intend to be a driving force in the transformation of the intralogistics industry in the Middle East and India,” Narayan added.
