The new designs bring a fresh look to the heritage property, which opened in 1974 as the first 5 star hotel in Dubai. The Creekside property’s new facelift comes at an exciting time for the Dubai creek area.

Following the renovation of the properties 288 rooms in 2018, the new-look lobby and fish market restaurant began in summer 2021. Designed by Lulie Fisher Design Studio, the interior company were appointed due to their strong reputation in hospitality interiors, having worked with many of Dubai’s great hotel brands.

Lulie Fisher, Interior Designer, said of the project:

Our design approach was to retain and refurbish the historic and unique backdrop of this gem of a hotel – timber marquetry wall panelling, water jet cut marbles inlaid with brass and timber coffered ceilings – and sensitively layer in contemporary joinery, furniture pieces, carpets and artwork to modernise and update the hotel for today’s discerning guest whilst retaining all its heritage and colourful character.”

The new refurbishments include a fresh look lobby café, updates to the hotel entrance and lobby area and changes to the iconic Fish Market to enhance the market style dining experience.

The design company has also been appointed to work on further renovations projects taking place over 2022 and 2023 including a new all-day dining, further updates to the rooftop pool deck and Japanese restaurant Minato.

Jan Hanak, General Manager of Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek said:

“With such an iconic and historical property comes great responsibility. I’m delighted that after a challenging few years we have been able to invest in our future and ensure Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek continues to be an iconic part of Dubai’s heritage and future. Lulie and the team have tastefully brought a modern refresh which is still in-keeping with the hotels great history, and indeed the beautiful and traditional architecture and design of Dubai’s old town. The feedback from our guests has been great, especially those who have been re-visiting us for a number of years.

We have a lot of exciting plans to continue to improve our offering over the next few years. There are some great developments and investments have been made in the creek area of Dubai and we hope these renovations will contribute to that. It’s our aim that as we reach 2024, and our jubilee anniversary of opening, our property will tell an excellent story of the growth and development of Dubai and the Creek, and our part within that story.”
