Accor is anchoring the upcoming Jewel of the Creek masterplan in Dubai, with a fully integrated urban Rixos resort focused on leisure, entertainment, sports, and food & beverage.
Earlier this year, Accor announced its strategic partnership with Dubai Developments to manage two properties, namely the Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan and Swissôtel and Swissôtel Living Al Murooj. The upcoming Jewel of the Creek will illustrate the third property signed in less than a year.
The new Rixos property will be located in the Jewel of the Creek, a 1 million square metre, mixed-use development in the Port Saeed area of Deira, in close proximity to Dubai International Airport.
The project is expected to transform the location into a destination with a vibrant urban center featuring residential, commercial, hospitality, sports, entertainment recreational and marina components, which are connected to the main city area with over seven tunnels and almost 7,000 parking spaces available.
In addition, it will offer a vast range of outdoor features including lavish pools, extensive landscaping and water features, with a waterfront promenade offering retail and food and beverage outlets and an 80-berth marina.
“The recent development witnessed in the nearby Bur Dubai and Deira districts, with major facelifts and redevelopments initiatives, are expected to further elevate the surroundings and will be incredibly beneficial to existing hotels in the respective areas,” says Mark Willis, CEO of Accor Middle East & Africa. “We’re the largest hotel operator in Dubai and our partnership with Dubai Developments highlights our common goal to strategically develop tourism and meet the demand of today’s travellers in Dubai.”
Further to the guests rooms, Rixos will showcase a variety of food and beverage outlets, a large conference centre (3,000sqm), a commercial zone, indoor and outdoor sports facilities and fitness centre, a wellness centre, an infinity pool, an entertainment and show arena, a beach promenade, and a kids and teens facilities. Once completed, the project will offer 770 hotel rooms and suites.
“We are very pleased to introduce this new property into Dubai, as we increase the presence of the Rixos brand in the UAE” adds Mark Willis, CEO of Accor Middle East & Africa. “This revolutionary project is expected to transform the Port Saeed area of Deira into a destination with a vibrant urban centre featuring residential, commercial, hospitality, sports and recreational components.”
The group is currently operating four Rixos properties in the UAE, including Rixos Premium Dubai JBR, Rixos Dubai the Palm Hotel & Suites, Rixos Saadiyat Island Abu Dhabi and Rixos Bab Al Bahr in Ras Al Khaima.
Rixos Jewel of the Creek will expand Accor’s footprint in the UAE to 65 properties strong (17,979 keys) with 29 more projects (7,900 keys) pipelined across its diversified portfolio of brands.
