Over 52% of people vaccinated in UAE, announces minister

Abdulrahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, has  announced on Tuesday that the UAE has so far vaccinated 52.46% of the total target group.

“Today, we announce a new achievement for the UAE in reducing and combating the COVID-19 pandemic, as the national campaign reaches its goal of vaccinating 52.46% of the total target group in the UAE,” said Al Owais.

“In addition, the vaccine was provided to 70.21% of elderlies and people with chronic conditions, which is the priority of this great national effort,” he said.

Al Owais said that as daily reports about vaccine doses continue, we are approaching 7 million vaccines in more than 205 medical centres in different regions of the country.

“This is a positive step that places the UAE among the countries with the highest vaccination rate,” Al Owais added.

Al Owais said that these numbers reflect the tremendous efforts made by our health sector and our heroic teams to provide the utmost protection and maintain public health.

“It is also an indication of the strength of the medical and health systems in the UAE. We are working hard to succeed in providing the vaccine to 100% of our people,” he said.

Talking about the availability of vaccines in the country he said vaccines’ availability is one of the most important achievements of the country in our battle against the pandemic.

“Vaccines are available to everyone free, in various centres, operating at maximum capacity,” he said.

The minister urged everyone to join hands, cooperate and take the initiative to vaccinates as to ensure the immunity of the community and the return to normal life.
