Recently, Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island gave a preview of The Weekend Indulgence experience and brought the Hotels to Indulge campaign to life, with Mövenpick: A Delicious World of Indulgence. The invitation-only event for media and influencers, was a teaser for the type of weekend getaway now available to guests – full of wholesome pleasures and a healthy dose of self-indulgence.
On October 15th-16th, a select group was swept away to the spectacular beachfront resort on Al Marjan Island to encounter Mövenpick: A Delicious World of Indulgence. The weekend began with a sustainable themed lunch prepared by Executive Chef Rajiv Ranjan at Boons Brasserie and Bar, kicking-off an appetizing series of events. Famed pâtissier Chef Eric Lanlard, affectionately known as ‘Cake-Boy,’ joined the weekend to lead a Masterclass on creating one of his trademark confections, the West Indies Chocolate Tart. The clock then struck Chocolate Hour, one of Mövenpick’s signature daily rituals, where a cacoa-rich treat was offered in The Market area of the hotel. Cocktails were served at Neo Rooftop, featuring panoramic views of the Arabian Peninsula, before everyone settled down for an extravagant beach-side Chocolate Discovery Dinner led by Chef Eric. After a restful night of sweet dreams, the morning brought yoga, meditation and healthy drinks al fresco, with a final Mediterranean Brunch at Ula to complete the experience.
“Mövenpick deeply understands the pleasure that a touch of culinary artistry can bring,” said Eric Lanlard, aka Cake-Boy. “It was a treat to join the team at Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island for an unforgettable weekend, where we created the kind of magical, unexpected suprises that happen when a guest participates in a culinary creation they’ve never tried before and experienced tastes that will forever connect them to that moment. It is my hope that we created some powerful memories.”
Mövenpick’s heritage and philosophy of “indulgence done right” originated from its founder Ueli Prager’s vision and his belief that, “We don’t do anything that’s really extraordinary. We are successful because we simply do ordinary things in an extraordinary way.” With Hotels to Indulge, Mövenpick aspires to be “the” destination for food culture that brings people together, enables connections, stirs emotions, and creates magical culinary moments travelers and locals aspire to experience.
