Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of Supreme Council of Energy, Managing Director & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority ( DEWA ), Chairman of World Green Economy Summit, he will launch, during a climate change summit in Paris, the new ‘The State of Green Economy Report 2015’, a key outcome of The World Green Economy Summit (WGES) 2014 held last April in Dubai, in the presence of Former California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will host the World Summit of Regions for Climate as Chairman of R20 in addition to the former prime minister of France, Manuel Valls, former United States Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton and UN Climate Chief, Christina Figueres.
Al Tayer is heading a delegation from DEWA and the World Green Economy Summit to Paris to participate in The Road to Paris 2015 – World Summit of Regions for Climate that is organized by World Climate Ltd. on 9th-11th October 2014.
“Our participation in the World Summit of Regions for Climate falls in line with UAE’s vison 2021, which aims to achieve the development of a green economy that is based on sustainability that is able to compete globally and strengthen Dubai’s position as The Capital of the Green Economy. The delegations’ participation in this event is a true indicator of Dubai’s commitment to implementing and achieving the national initiative launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Under the slogan “A green economy for sustainable development”, the initiative focuses on the delivery of strategies and action that reflect the leading role of Dubai in this field, and its quest to adopt future opportunities that will strengthen the green practices. In achieving these goals, Dubai will become a role model on the regional and global level,” said Al Tayer.
The report that we are launching presents a comprehensive overview and outlook on progress and innovation on green economic development, like Smart Cities, Lifestyle Options, Tourism, Finance and investments. The report also highlights Dubai’s achievements in the Green Economy through the experiences of companies from the public and private sectors, best global practices, and the latest developments and studies in this area,” Al Tayer added.
The State of Green Economy Report 2015′ was published by The World Green Economy Summit (WGES), and supported by Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and DEWA , and compiled by Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence and UNDP. A number of manager s and chief executives officers, experts and professionals in green practices and initiatives at both local and global levels participated in this Report.
