Qatar is set to launch huge investment projects in all fields as part of its preparations for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup as well as its development projects, HE Qatar’s permanent representative in Geneva Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Henzab said, pointing to the Qatari economy’s growth despite the global economic crisis of 2008.
HE Al-Henzab was speaking at an event at the Arab-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in which Qatar’s permanent delegation to the U.N. and international organizations in Geneva took part as well as the delegation of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce’s office at the permanent delegation. The meeting comes within efforts to enhance economic and commercial cooperation between Qatar and Switzerland and meeting with Swiss business sectors and businessmen to brief them on the economic situation and investment opportunities in Qatar.
For his part, head of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce’s office Nasser bin Ibrahim Al Lanqawi said, according to the directives of HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, the office will carry on with its efforts to boost cooperation between Qatar and Switzerland to bring more Swiss investments to the country in order to contribute to the implementation of Qatar National Vision 2030.
In turn, Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed Al-Thani, representative of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce at the permanent delegation, gave a comprehensive briefing on the huge progress of the Qatari economy as well as the available and unexploited investment opportunities, noting that the event aimed to spot the light on the substantial opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
