Finance Minister Anas Al-Saleh Sunday underlined the important role of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in boosting economic and social development in member countries.
Al-Saleh, during a meeting with visiting IDB President Ahmad Mohammad Ali and Director of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) Waleed Al-Wohaib, said Kuwait’s 2013 framework agreement with IDB was “strategically important.” He was quoted in a statement by the ministry as saying that Kuwait was keen on benefitting from IDB’s expertise in the development projects.
Ali commended Kuwait’s support of the IDB’s objectives and activities in the Islamic countries, as well as the leading role of His Highness the Amir in backing causes of the Muslim nation.
He said IDB was closely cooperating with Kuwait within the framework agreement with the objective of boosting development and housing projects.
