Kuwait, represented by the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), will host the 14th meeting of the GCC e-Government Executive Committee on November 24-25.
“Kuwait will host that meeting as it chairs the rotating presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states,” the CAIT said in a statement, adding that the gathering aims at strengthening technical cooperation and joint action among the GCC in this regard. It noted that the meeting seeks to exchange expertise to improve and develop work to provide better governmental services in the GCC.
The meeting, it added, will focus on a host of important topics related to the GCC e-government projects, indicating the report by the GCC General Secretariat on resolutions taken at the previous meeting hosted by Kuwait last March will be discussed as well.
The gathering is expected to tackle some other issues submitted by the General Secretariat on implementing joint initiatives and resolutions by Telecommunications, Information Technology and Post GCC Ministers Committee, the statement pointed out.
The meeting will discuss the developments of the linkage among the GCC e-governments’ networks as well as a number of reports submitted by Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in this regard.
Kuwait will present a brief report on the developments of the e-government field here, it concluded.
