Injaz Qatar launched here its newest youth entrepreneurship programme in partnership with aerospace company Boeing.
The non-profit organisation and member of Junior Achievement Worldwide is promoting business acumen among young Qataris through its new Start-Up programme, officials told media.
Speaking at a media conference, Injaz Chair Sheikha Hanadi bint Nasser Al Thani said, “The Start-Up programme will offer university winners of our Mubadara competition the chance to develop their business ideas with seed funding.” Incubation and funding are central to transforming ideas into business, she said. “Hopefully, our initiative will attract new donors to elevate local entrepreneurs, and propel new start-ups internationally.” Boeing Middle East President Jeffrey Johnson said, “Boeing is helping Injaz propel Qatari start-ups globally. Young talent needs all the tools to grow a successful business.
“The Start-Up programme removes tough barriers and enables creativity to contribute to the country’s economic prosperity and competitiveness.” The Boeing-sponsored programme offers selected teams, comprising three to six members, seed funding and professional mentorship.
Supported by Qatar Business Incubation Center the ongoing programme will run for two years.
One team of participants taking part in the Start-Up Programme is winners of this year’s Mubadara, the Injaz Qatar Young Enterprise of the Year Competition.
At the media conference, Injaz screened a short film ‘METFAME’ showcasing works of winners of Mubadara.
