Qatar’s Hamad International Airport (HIA) unveiled its new Al Mourjan Business Lounge for Qatar Airways’ (QA) Premium passengers.

Al Mourjan Lounge, spread over 10,000 square metres, offers QA’s Premium travellers unrivalled Qatari hospitality with its signature five-star service, the carrier said in a media statement Wednesday.

QA Group Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said, “Qatar Airways has been known for years for our award-winning Premium Terminal at DIA. We are now very pleased to offer premium passengers the new premium lounge which sets new benchmarks in airport luxury.

“Al Mourjan Lounge is the epitome of comfort, convenience and five-star service that our premium class passengers have come to expect from us. We look forward to welcoming them to this superior lounge experience.” Passengers visiting Al Mourjan will enjoy the ambience of sunlight throughout the lounge, paired with our state-of-the-art lighting technology. The lounge, spread over two levels, and equivalent to ten Olympic size pools, can accommodate up to 1,000 visitors at a time, QA said.

The lounge that features a 15×7 meters infinity water pool at the base of the spiral staircase and lit four-tiered chandelier has many dining options and places to relax, prayer rooms, family spaces, a nursery, and games rooms for children offering PlayStation pods and an F1 driving simulator, restrooms and shower rooms.

The lounge also has a dedicated business centre. It has a conference area, personal internet workstations, or printers and scanners, all to ensure a smooth and seamless transition from the office to the passengers’ final destination.
Multi-purpose executive seating is also available throughout the lounge with a private Flight Information Display System monitor and reading light, as well as personal power and data outlets.

The lounge is open to QA and oneworld First and Business Class passengers until the Al Safwa First Class Lounge opens as part of HIA’s phased development, the carrier added.
