The Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), has concluded the “Project Management Programme” training held at the Organisation’s headquarters in Doha from the 22nd till 25th of September 2014.
The workshop was attended by project managers, researchers, planners, relevant http://www.businesstoday.me/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/sample10.jpgistrations staff and project coordinators, notably from the industrial sector in various Gulf countries. It focussed on theoretical and practical training.
GOIC Secretary General Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Ageel presented certificates to the participants and stressed the importance of such trainings in terms of boosting project successes. He reiterated GOIC’s commitment to supporting GCC industrial sector and the Organisation’s constant endeavours to improve industrial staff’s performance.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Laila Diab Shrair who introduced participants to basic project management concepts and tools, project life cycle, risk management, reasons behind project failures and key roles and responsibilities of project managers. In addition, participants got acquainted with practical means of assistance and pre-set forms aiming at helping them implement a good project management programme.
Dr. Shrair explained that most projects fail because of a lack of organisational support, notably in terms of human resources (60% of unsuccessful projects) and 37% of projects fail to succeed because of mediocre planning and management.
The Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) continuously seeks to boost individual and organisational capacities within the industrial sector of GCC countries and Yemen through its Training and Capacity Development Program (TCD).
GOIC is a regional organisation that brings together the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Yemen.
