The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Audit Bureaus Undersecretaries Committee has seconded the 2015 training plan, and recommended submitting it to the heads of the Bloc’s audit chiefs for endorsement in their next meeting.
The Committee wrapped up its 17th meeting that Kuwait hosted over the past two days and issued a host of recommendations for giving an impetus to auditing in the member state, the State Audit Bureau said in a statement on Saturday.
The meeting stressed the importance of implementing the resolution taken by the 34th meeting of GCC Supreme Council on coordination with the Secretariat General for organizing workshops and programs to acquaint the official bodies and the GCC citizens with the relevant audit decisions, the statement added.
According to the statement, the 2015 training plan comprises four programs, the first of which on monitoring bodies and their role in assessing internal control systems, to be organized by the Saudi General Auditing Bureau in March 2015. The second program, monitoring construction projects, will be organized by Kuwait’s State Audit Bureau in April, while the State Audit and Administrative Institution of Oman will host a third in October 2015 on managing and controlling financial risks.
The fourth program, preparing trainers, will be hosted by the Saudi General Auditing Bureau in cooperation with the INTOSAI Development Initiative.
