Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC) has recorded a significant increase in the number of exhibitions held in the year to date compared to the same period last year.

The region’s leading exhibition and conference venue hosted 28 exhibitions in the six months to the end of June 2014, up 56 percent from 18 exhibitions last year.

The facility also hosted three regional and three international conferences over the same period, demonstrating versatility in its event offering.

Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Managing Director of ADNEC, said, “This continued growth in our operational performance, and the development of the wider business tourism industry in Abu Dhabi, underscores the vital contribution this sector makes to the emirate’s economic development.

“By reinforcing our internal stakeholder relationships, building new external partnerships, continuously improving our value proposition and investing in our people, we will continue to forge ahead with our strategic objective of increasing our economic impact across several industries in Abu Dhabi,” he added. “We are confident 2014 will witness further growth for our business.” One of the most successful new events hosted by ADNEC over the last six months was the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture – one of the only events in the world dedicated to innovation and technology in agriculture. Held in Abu Dhabi for the first time, the forum successfully showcased game-changing innovations in sustainable agriculture and attracted 3,000 industry enthusiasts and experts.

ADNEC also hosted ABILITIESme, a first-of-its-kind event in the region that sought greater inclusion and integration of people with disabilities and special needs into mainstream society. The event raised regional awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities in the U.A.E. and the wider Middle East. The event drew the participation of social workers, government officials, local opinion leaders, and decision makers.

ADNEC also hosted Eco Waste 2014, Education 2020, Fire and Emergency Middle East Exhibition, Occupational Safety and Health Middle East Conference, Industry Specialists for Middle East Air Cargo Exhibition and Conference, Logistics Exhibition and Conference 2014, Indian Property Exhibition, and the Al Ain International Exhibition for Agriculture and Landscaping at the Al Ain Convention Centre.
