The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) in collaboration with The Institute of Banking Studies (IBS) and in coordination with Gulf Cooperation Council – Secretariat General (GCCSG) announced on Saturday it was to organize tomorrow an Information Security Forum on Securing Payments in the Cyber World for the security specialists in the banking and financial sector in Kuwait and the GCC Central Banks.
The forum aims at spotlighting the increasing importance of bank payments security via the internet or e-banking, said a CBK press statement, noting that a bevy of cyber security specialists from well-recognized regional and international entities will attend the forum.
Basically the forum will tackle three major areas of cyber security for financial institutions, namely the system of e-payments and how it can be secured, rules and regulations regarding the implementation of cyber security, and the latest trends in tracking down cyber crime, said the statement.
Among those attending the forum will be specialists from Gulf central banks, the World Bank, and EU central bank in addition to local Kuwaiti banks and some Kuwaiti government agencies.
