45th World Economic Forum Kicks off Tomorrow in Davos

The World Economic Forum’s (WEF) five day annual meeting of the global political and economic elite will begin tomorrow in the Swiss city of Davos and will continue through Jan. 24.

A statement issued today by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce said HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani, during his participation in the forum as part pf the Qatari delegation, will meet with a number of minister and heads of participating delegations and companies to discuss economic and trade relations and means of developing them with their countries.

The WEF, the highest world economic forum, is attended by a large number of heads of states and governments from various world continents as well as public and private sectors’ economic decision makers, academics and civil society representatives.

The forum’s Board of Director has praised the role of the State of Qatar in revitalizing global and regional trade and drew attention to the significance of its participation in the new session to submit its vision regarding the promotion of investment, economic growth and global trade due to its regional role.

The World Economic Forum publishes a comprehensive series of reports which examine in detail the broad range of global issues it seeks to address with stakeholders as part of its mission of improving the state of the world. Besides reports on its key events and standalone publications such as the Global Competitiveness Report, the Global Risks Report and the Global Gender Gap Report, the Forum produces landmark titles covering the environment, education, individual industries and technologies.
