HE Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Review 2014 Economic Successes

With HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani and HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani attending, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce reviewed its achievements of 2014 and its future plans.

The event was held today at the Ministry’s headquarters. Afterwards, the ministry released a statement saying that HE the Minister of Economy gave a speech and welcomed HE the Prime Minister to the event.

HE the Minister of commerce said that the ministry had overwhelming successes in all fields during 2014. His Excellency highlighted the cooperation between different state authorities to complete Al Farjan markets project. His Excellency stressed that the swift completion of the project is something the ministry is looking to keep up with in future projects.

HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce stressed on the importance of boosting the private sector in accordance with the country’s strategic plan to diversify the economy. His Excellency highlighted the importance of the private sector as in important component of development.

HE the Minister highlighted how the ministry’s hosting of a number of forums helped attract foreign investments. His Excellency then addressed employees and said that a creative employee is central to the government’s economic plans.

His Excellency highlighted the ministry has been working on raising its strategic reserves in food by diversifying the country’s food resources. The Ministry has also undertaken a number of initiative in the field of food supply, His Excellency added.

Today’s event, where the ministry reviews the previous year’s successes and future plans, will become an annual event starting from this years. The ministry had honored earlier today 125 employees for their efforts in 2014.
